the art of the thrift

I went to the thrift store today. I found a shirt for Petra. I thought it was pretty dang cute. It was priced at $2.25 and I was willing to pay that. I got up to the counter and while I was waiting to be helped I was fishing around in my purse to see if I had any change to go along with my two one dollar bills in my hand. I was holding Petra at the same time so it was kind of a task. but then the lady walked up and said "quarter." I thought she was asking if I had another quarter so she didn't have to make change. I said, "I'm sorry, I don't have a quarter." and I pulled out another one dollar bill. She looked at me again and said. "quarter." I got confused for a second then realized she was telling me the price of the little shirt. It was only a quarter! that helped me get over the embarrasment of not understanding her in the first place. that has to be one of my favorite things. when you walk up to the counter and realize what you are getting is even cheaper then you expected. this is what I got. of course, she won't be able to wear it until she is like, four, but oh well. a deal is a deal.

I went to a small salvation army one on gilbert and mckellips. its tucked in the corner behind that giant desert devils sports thing. it wasn't the greatest, it was just right there. but I did find the shirt so it can't be too bad.
