we made it to wa. I spread out a few posts so it wouldn't be so overwhelming. lets see now...
it was hard to leave.
I was sad saying goodbye to my friends. I was sad saying goodbye to my family. I was teary in the plane knowing it was a one way flight. I was just sad. I don't like change very much.
but its good to know I appreciate what az has to offer, and I plan to fully engage in exploring my new surroundings.
in other news... Petra was remarkable on the plane. she hardly made a sound and even slept some. It was wonderful. Even more wonderful was that I had the whole row to myself. I could put her down, and have a chair for my bag, all at the same time. It was SO GREAT. such a blessing.
My apartment is so cute, but I will wait to post pictures of it until its not messy and covered in boxes. Also, Petra has been under the weather, (thats another post) so we are still totally packed up. Not so easy to unpack while cuddling a sick one year old. But I do have our new DVR to keep me entertained.
But I will post some picks of our "backyard/frontyard"
right outside our front door, and our windows.
and imagine my child-like wonder when I woke up to a sprinkle of snow outside...
from what we hear, this is about as much as it snows at one time. its enough for me. I call it beginner snow. a great way to transition into a cold climate.

i've been waiting for your first post...
it looks lovely. and we need to start planning a trip to come and see you guys for spring/summer '08.
(owie has asked for petra and chelsea everyday since you guys were here for pizza...sorry jeff.)
i can't believe you're gone!
i'm glad the trip went well, and that the unpacking isn't too overwhelming... just take your time.
jealous. jealous. & happy for you too!
Glad you guys made it safely!
On Tuesday I had close to an inch of snow at my house. And sometimes it DOES snow more than that but its usually gone within a few hours (we have a hard time staying below freezing most of the time) and it just turns into slushy puddles.
I am so jealous! Your new home, (temporary beacause you ARE coming back!) looks amazing. I'm so glad your flight was okay, and Petra was good. I miss you and hope all is well. luv ya!
I too love the Ender's series. I was on a sci fi kick for awhile in high school. Then I became obsessed with Orson Scott Card. Have you read the Alvin Maker series? They're great too.
