"my feelings are more important than yours"

the opinions of a two year old... 

exhibit a :: I got pita a new rain coat while thrifting the other day. great find. it had a hood and pockets like she loves, was long enough and everything, tags still on it, pretty sure it's from england as the labels were in english, but the size was 92 (at least I can hope). I thought it was perfect. I guess I was wrong. I showed it to daughter all excited to point out the pockets and the hood and the blue. she looks crushed and said "no, pink!" then continued to cry on the floor. um huh? she is a huge fan of sleeping beauty and if you remember there is a huge feud "make it pink!" "make it blue!" over the color of aurora's dress. apparently this jacket landed on the wrong side. I finally forced her into it to go somewhere, and promised to take her picture as a bribe. she purposely went for the pouty look to show her displeasure. 

exhibit b :: the other morning jeff and I went into the girl's room to get her up. jeff was headed out to work so he quickly requested his usual kiss good-bye. she obliged then looking up with those perfect blue eyes says "thanks for kissy daddy." it was precious. she immediately turns to me and starts handing me her things and says "here mommy hold this."  ... daddy is clearly the favorite around here.

exhibit c :: every night the monkey has a laundry list of things she has to have in order to go to sleep. it varies slightly each night, but here is the jist. 

"booky", water, princess necklace, "my flower", "kitty watch", and of course, ever faithful elephant. 

not pictured are the two bracelets that she wore to bed. she stashes these treasures in the corner of her bed every night, then hands them to me to take out every morning. oh dear.
