happy trails, to you

nothing says good morning like waking up to your husband saying:
"I have to leave. R is awake and crying, and apparently P peed on the floor somewhere."
:: flash back so yesterday ::
p- "this is chloe. she's getting married." (holds up doll)
my friend L- "oh yeah? what's her husbands name?"
p- "phliphla. no glilum. no, it's chloe too."
me- "chloe and chloe? how very european."
p- (looks down in great dismay and embarrassment, then shoots me a look of full indignation) "No, I am not PEEIN'!"
:: ::
"huh, okay... great. have a good day babe. awesome"
"mommy I just got some p.p. on the floor. it was just a little assident. rilla is awake."
I get out of bed and head to the kitchen to get R's bottle before I go and get my little sunshine face.
"mom, don't step in my p.p."
look down. a trail of pee runs from the hall bathroom, to the kitchen. too late. my foots wet.
how do you get pee ... ? "oh geez. okay. thanks P."
did I mention I just woke up?
I head in to get R and give her the bottle. typically the best part of my day.
I walk in, reach down to save her from her crib in exile.
she backs away from me, and shoots me a cartoonishly exaggerated glare of annoyance. daggers.
:: flash back to middle of the previous night ::
R crying, P crying.
we get R up, I offer to hold her and give her a bottle. P heads off to sleep in mom and dads bed.
get R tylenol and a bottle, doesn't want the bottle. back in the fridge.
eye rubbing, yawning, cuddling... someone obviously needs to go back to sleep.
a cuddle, a snuggle, a gentle laying back in the crib... "AAAAEEEEEEHHHHHHH!"
more love, more angry screams, love, screams.
I finally leave her to cry it out.
:: ::
"good morning hon!" (reach out my arms lovingly)
death stare.
someone's not over it.
p- (looking out the window) "see, mom, I told you it was just a beautiful day!"
happy friday!
