she turned one last month.
the theme? polka dot rainbow, including homemade decorations by big sister.
she wore a brand new plain white onesie. my favorite thing for babies, and just what i had envisioned with the colorful decor.
white cake cupcakes with chocolate frosting in primary color baking cups, with rainbow dot sprinkles, generously distributed by big sister.
birthday girl had balloons, cousins, pizza and arizona breezes.
i like celebrating first birthdays. against all odds, we made it through alive. we survived the first year of sleepless nights, hostage holding hormones and avoided harm or accident. we laid the building blocks to the art of nourishment, play, and communication. marking the day is a nod and smile, acknowledging that it isn't always easy to get a baby here, happy and healthy. I am grateful.
I am glad you are here miss rills. you are a bundle of joy, and you bring a crazy amount of love and happiness into my days.
