... when out on the lawn there arose such a clatter ...
last night we woke up to howling winds. it was so loud. it was a new feeling for me, to be afraid of the elements.
we awoke in the morning to find this.

just yesterday I was thinking to myself how much I love my fence. I mean, I love this fence. it is such a great color, and weathered, and moss grows in the cracks. it makes a great background for photos. its the time and place marker for memories. "oh I loved that costume! when was that? that's the fence from the washington house on suchnsuch street, so I must have been about four." ... you know what I mean? it makes me happy to look at out my windows.
I hope it can be saved. I will just be devastated* if those two panels get replaced with brand new bright and shiny wood.
*maybe not devastated, but you know what I mean.

Chels, that is devastating!! Bryce could totally fix that fence right up for you. I could probably even get him to put on his tool belt and only wear a wife beater. Ha!
